From Campus to Cloud: How a Recent GST Grad Leveraged an Internship into a Full-Time Cloud Architect Role
At Touro Graduate School of Technology (GST), we take pride in supporting our students well beyond the classroom. Our Career Services office plays a pivotal role in helping students launch meaningful careers—and recent graduate Noah Haas is a shining example of what’s possible with dedication and guidance.
Noah, who completed his M.S. in Information Systems - Technology Leadership/Project Management, recently completed an internship in Information Security at Touro University — now, his own alma mater. We caught up with Noah to learn more about his journey, how GST’s Career Services helped him, and what advice he has for current and incoming students.
Q&A with Noah Haas
Q: What motivated you to pursue a degree in Technology Leadership/Project Management at Touro GST, and what were your career goals before starting your internship?
Noah: As an international student form the Netherlands, I was eager to broaden my horizons and build a career in the United States. To do so, I looked for a program that would equip me with the right technical and leadership skills. And the Master of Science in Information Systems - Technology Leadership/Project Management at Touro in combination with the internship Touro gave me has offered me exactly that.
Q: How did the GST Career Services department support you in preparing for and securing your internship?
Noah: The support I received from GST Career Services, especially from Leony, was outstanding! From helping me polish my resume to consistently sharing new job openings, both within and outside of Touro. The guidance was hands-on and ongoing. When career services shared the opening of the internship opportunity at Touro, Career Services supported me through the entire application process, from submitting my materials to preparing for the interviews. Even after I began my role, Leony regularly checked in to make sure everything was going well. That level of continued support made a big difference and was truly refreshing.
Q: Can you describe your experience working as an Information Security Intern at your soon-to-be alma mater? What were your main responsibilities and projects?
Noah: Working at Touro as an Information Security Intern was an incredible experience. From day one, I was immersed in cybersecurity topics that were completely new to me, which helped me quickly expand my knowledge of the field. After a few weeks, I noticed an opportunity to help a coworker by automating a report that took 8 hours per month to make. That initial project was so successful that my internship pivoted entirely toward developing automated processes for the security team. Looking back, I managed to build two major automation workflows that significantly improved reporting capabilities and saved the team hours of manual work. It was extremely rewarding to make a real impact and even got recognition from the highest level of leadership within Touro.
Q: How did your internship experience contribute to landing your full-time role as a Cloud Solutions Architect?
Noah: The company that hired me, Blink AI Payments, was looking for someone with a blend of cloud architecture experience and a solid foundation in cybersecurity. My prior role at Oracle had already given me exposure to enterprise cloud architecture, but what really helped was that Touro granted me the opportunity to earn my AWS Cloud Practitioner certification as part of the capstone course. The deciding factor eventually turned out to be the security experience I gained during my internship. That practical exposure demonstrated my ability to bridge cloud solutions and security, which in my opinion, are the two most critical priorities for any tech-driven organization nowadays.

Q: What advice would you give to other students who want to make the most of their internship opportunities and transition into a successful career?
Noah: Really put effort into getting an internship during your degree. And treat this internship as more than just a temporary role, see it as a launchpad for your career. Be proactive! Don’t wait to be told what to do. Look for inefficiencies, jump on the opportunities to help, and don’t be afraid to propose solutions where you see gaps. Your internship might be the only time in your career where you’re really getting an opportunity to not know everything beforehand, so don’t be afraid to ask questions, make mistakes, or admit what you don’t know. Also, try to build relationships with the people you work with, and the people in your cohort. Those connections can turn out to be a deciding factor later in your career.
