Mehmet A., a Touro GST Instructional Technology 2017 Graduate, left a teaching career in Turkey to pursue a mathematics career in the United States. However, that all changed when he met Touro GST’s MSIS Program Director Jack Romano. Jack introduced Mehmet to the perks of a career in technology and how Mehmet could easily transition into one. Mehmet attributes much of his success at Touro GST to Professor Estrada, Data Communications Professor, stating: "Professor Estrada really knows what he’s doing, I’ve learned a lot from him. Everyone who attends Touro GST should take a class with him. He made it enjoyable." Mehmet struggled with networking and having professional relationships at his prior college and enjoyed the relatable education and advice he received at Touro GST.
With Touro GST’s help, Mehmet was able to successfully navigate the American education system - "GST helped me prepare for the interview and email process. It wasn't easy for an immigrant in America because it didn’t work that way in my country." Even after graduation Touro GST fosters career networking with Alumni events and sends regular email and LinkedIn blasts announcing job opportunities.
