Touro Students Shine at Regional Entrepreneurship Competition, Advance to NYS Finals
In a fantastic showing of entrepreneurial spirit and innovation, Touro University recently hosted a highly competitive regional entrepreneurship competition. The event brought together some of the brightest collegiate minds in New York, featuring approximately 65 students across 33 competing teams.
Touro University President Dr. Alan Kadish was in attendance to support the students and witness the impressive array of venture pitches. The competition featured a diverse roster of representing institutions, including Baruch College, Brooklyn College, City College, College of Staten Island, Columbia University, Cooper Union, Cornell Tech, Fashion Institute of Technology, Fordham School of Law, Hunter College, Manhattan University, NYU, Queens College, and Touro University.
We are incredibly proud to report that Touro student teams delivered a dominant performance, securing multiple top-tier placements across two of the six competition tracks. The first and second-place winners will now advance to the New York State Competition, where they will have the opportunity to pitch their business plans for a chance to win $100,000 toward their startup ventures!

The day was further enriched by 19 dedicated judges—both internal and external to Touro—who lent their industry expertise to evaluate the pitches. Special thanks are also owed to:
- Dr. Oliver Mitchell, who delivered an inspiring lunch keynote address and generously donated to the event's raffle.
- Prof. David Cheifetz, who provided the closing remarks to round out an impactful day of learning.
- The Bronx Urban Community Magnet School, whose students served as exceptional event ambassadors.
