Evaluating New York’s Top Cybersecurity Programs

The annual rankings evaluate New York–based graduate cybersecurity programs using criteria such as student-to-faculty ratio, graduation and retention rates, curriculum strength and tuition value. Cybersecurity Guide, a leading independent resource connecting students to top educational and training opportunities in cybersecurity, has been publishing its rankings since 2019 and reaches millions annually. Cybersecurity Guide’s rankings spotlight programs that combine academic rigor with measurable outcomes and workforce relevance.

An Investment in Student Success

“This recognition is a meaningful validation of the work of our faculty, students, and leadership in building a rigorous cybersecurity program that offers training, skill-building and value to traditional graduate students as well as career changers seeking to enter the field of cybersecurity,” said Payam Bina, Director of Academic Affairs at Touro University’s Graduate School of Technology and Deputy Chair of the Computer Science Department at Touro’s New York School of Career and Applied Studies (NYSCAS).

“What makes our MS in Cybersecurity and Network Administration unique is the way we invest in our students,” continued Bina. “Our small student-to-faculty ratio allows students to work closely with experienced professionals who understand their career goals and provide meaningful mentorship. Our curriculum emphasizes real-world skills and industry certifications such as CEH and CompTIA CySA+, so graduates leave not only with a degree, but with the confidence and credentials to succeed in the cybersecurity workplace.”

Empowering Alumni for High-Demand Careers

Touro’s cybersecurity graduates have gone on to become network engineers, information security analysts and cloud applications specialists in the finance, tech and public sectors. Employers include leading firms such as Jane Street, Google, LegoIO, the New York City Department of Transportation and more.

Alumni consistently cite the program’s practical focus and strong faculty mentorship as key factors in their career success. “It was Touro GST that helped me deeply understand the inner workings of networking,” said Arthur Brook, a recent graduate of the program who is currently employed as a System Integration Engineer at PruTech Solutions. “The Data Communications class and the overall mastery of cybersecurity and networking fundamentals gave me the foundation I needed to advance professionally.”
