Touro GST Students Gain Firsthand Insight into Tech Careers During Employer Site Visit to Cisco
On April 3, 2025, students, faculty, and staff from the Graduate School of Technology (GST) visited Cisco’s talent and collaboration center, thanks to a partnership with GST’s Office of Career Services. The site visit offered an inside look at one of the world’s top tech companies—highlighting Cisco’s innovation, workplace culture, and career pathways.
The group toured Cisco’s hybrid-friendly office at PENN1, experiencing how its smart technology—like interactive displays and intelligent conference rooms—boosts collaboration and productivity.

"Visiting Cisco was a fantastic experience," said Professor Samuel Abrahamson. "Their friendly and informative presenters, led by Brian, gave us a great tour of their office location, explaining and showing us how their technology is utilized throughout their human-friendly workspace and enhancing their corporate culture. They closed out the tour with a great Q&A. I hope that they offer this again for future students."
Professor Satch Hegde, Assistant Professor & Coordinator, Cybersecurity, added, “Thank you Brian, Annie, and Gio and all at Cisco that made it possible for our students to view their state-of-the-art office space at PENN1. Cisco has already long been a place to be for many students in the Cybersecurity & Network Administration program; getting an in-depth tour of their modern and minimalist interior and uniquely functional conference spaces left a lasting impression on what a well-designed corporate space means for our students. As faculty, we were thrilled to see the visit piqued their interest and provoked questions on Cisco’s training programs, hiring goals and recruitment process.”

Located just a short walk from campus, the visit also helped students see how their tech careers could be rooted locally.
Students left inspired by the experience and had chance to interact with Cisco professionals. “Cisco definitely gave us a little more than a tour, they gave us a peek into the future we’re working toward,” said UX/UI & Interaction Design major Sona Dhaugoda.
“I loved the collaborative office space at Cisco,” said Data Analytics graduate student, Smriti Pradhan. “The entire team was very warm and showed us the space with much thought and enthusiasm. What stood out to me most was the idea of building 'on purpose'. I had an amazing time and learned about how the company works and also their recruitment process. Thanks to everyone who made it happen!”. Instructional Technology grad student David Repuri echoed the enthusiasm: "Cisco, despite its global scale, operates with the agility and freedom of a startup. Their culture of innovation and individual ownership makes me consider them a better choice for a career vs just a tech job."

This visit is part of GST Career Services' ongoing mission to connect students with industry leaders and meaningful career experiences. Stay tuned for future employer visits and career exploration events as we continue to prepare students to lead and thrive in today’s evolving workforce.
