Bridging Connections: A Recap of the 2025 Graduate School of Technology Alumni Networking Reception

On March 31, 2025, Touro’s Graduate School of Technology hosted an engaging and inspiring Alumni Networking Reception, bringing together past and present members of our Alumni Association and 2025 GST Alumni Advisory Council for an evening of conversation, career insights, and meaningful connections.

The evening began with a warm welcome from Leanne McKeown, Director of Corporate Outreach and Career Development, followed by opening remarks from Dean Issac Herskowitz. Dean Herskowitz highlighted the importance of preparing for life after work, emphasizing the need for planning retirement as part of a holistic career strategy.

The event provided a fantastic opportunity for alumni, faculty, staff, and rising graduates to connect with fellow professionals currently working in diverse and influential roles across the technology sector. Attendees had the chance to engage with other professionals holding positions such as Senior Systems Engineer, Director of IT, Senior Systems Architect, IT Project Manager, Media Services Technician, Data Analyst, Senior UX Designer, Senior Product Designer, Executive VP of Product Management, IT Manager, Instructional Technologist, Senior Software Developer, and Web Designer. Their collective expertise and willingness to share their career journeys offered invaluable perspectives on the evolving landscape of technology and the vast opportunities within the field.

Our featured speaker, Chaim Shapiro, is the Executive Director of Undergraduate Career Services at Touro University. Chaim captivated the audience with an engaging session on LinkedIn best practices and profile optimization. Through a live demonstration, attendees learned valuable tips on how to enhance their LinkedIn presence, making them more visible and attractive to potential employers and collaborators. This session left everyone inspired and informed on how to effectively update their LinkedIn profiles.

The reception underscored the strength and diversity of our alumni network and the supportive community that continues to thrive beyond graduation. We extend our gratitude to everyone who attended and contributed to making the event a success.
