Touro GST at the recent Enterprise Computing Community Conference (ECC)


Dean Issac Herskowitz, Chief-of-Staff, Jay Lefkowitz, and Professor Phil Teplitzky represented Touro College’s Graduate School of Technology (GST) at the recent Enterprise Computing Community Conference (ECC) which was held at Marist College in Poukeepskie, New York during June 2018. The ECC is the premier conference on Mainframe (z-Systems) computing and is a joint venture of academia and businesses. Professor Teplitzky gave a presentation on Understanding the Systems Development Life Cycle: A General, Systems-Based Ecological Model of Information Technology.

Touro has taken a lead role, with the support of IBM’s academic initiative team, to combine with the technology leaders of large New York City based financial companies and government agencies, in developing a z-Systems based curricula. GST is in the process of developing a series of courses on Mainframe Systems Programming and COBOL Programming. GST is also establishing an industry driven advisory panel to assist with the development and refinement of its z-Systems curricula.
